Blocking your Light

While living in the most major southern city of California, San Diego, you become a veteran of the time of year called June Gloom. This is when the cloud layer that is created by the Pacific Ocean on shore flow to the warmer land air currents cause a cloudy day over the area and block or at least cover the summer sun.

June 21 is when the summer solstice happens and for those that enjoy the summer sun for fun, this can be a deal breaker when you awake, ready to enjoy a sunny summer day and claim that 8 or 9 o’clock pm outdoor ball game or excursion to the beach or the park, if the light of day might not happen because of the June gloom being present.

Later in life, I moved to the high desert area of Southern California. While it is much hotter and dryer, I do not miss the June Gloom. The mornings are clear and hot and with such low humidity, a cloud just does not have a chance to form.

One of the other things that is such a treat are the stars. When you live where there is plenty of city lights, you see few stars in the very early morning hours before the dawn. However, unless you are working the late shift, or cannot sleep, you generally never see them.

In the High Desert areas, where the town is so small and the surrounding areas do not have any lights to illuminate and reduce the light of the stars in the heavens it is one awesome sight.

If you take a digital camera and set a delayed open aperture, the image captured delivers that evidence of the Milky Way which maybe you have never seen in reality.

When you see the Cross of Calvary, you see the image, even recognize it as a Christian symbol world wide. You might have heard the Gospel message, you might even be a believer. However, if you don’t get away from the world daily by reading and meditating on GOD’s word, by prayer and thanksgiving, you don’t realize just how absolutely beautiful the Cross of Calvary can become and how much more illuminated Jesus Christ can become in yours and in others lives.

Each of the art frames that I create has a one of kind look at completion. The frame, the colors, the mix and everything else including the cross are in the image. (Always check out the NEW ART and the GIVEN ART to see my efforts).

It is when the reflections of light in the room is removed, do you then see the illumination of the Cross in the art frame. It is designed to be your reminder that regardless of the rest of the moments around you, you can be sure the Cross is a symbol which always illuminates GOD’s Love in Jesus Christ for each of us, given to us so that we could live and have everlasting life.

The late Dr. Billy Graham said that everything started at the Cross. Even where he lived and worked, there are crosses placed everywhere to remind everyone that visited of this truth.

In the Gospel of John chapter 14, verse 6, Jesus stated, “I am the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except through me.” The Cross is the symbol where it all starts for every believer.

Before Christ, you had to make sacrifices of animals and try to keep commandments and laws that no one was able to do. There was always the fall through temptation to sin at some point and repentance and offerings were needed. A rotating specific High Priest would go once per year into the Holy of Holies and offer sacrifices for you. Because of the Cross, Jesus took care of the sacrifices for falling to keep the commands and the law which leads to being called sin before GOD. We still must follow the commands that are given in GOD’s word, but Jesus is the one and only sacrifice, that part of the forgiveness of our sins has been paid once for all.

Now, you can “go boldly to the Throne of Grace”, at any moment and, “seek mercy in your time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16)  In Fact GOD who is certainly deserving of greater honor and glory than any earthly King provides a path for us to come to his Throne. If we needed to see an earthly King we would to have to get an invite, be somebody, hope for the granting of his time.  GOD gave you an invite to come to the Throne room when Jesus died on the cross. The veil of the Holy of Holies was torn so we could have access and come ourselves through Jesus Christ in prayer, wherever we are at any moment.

Even the person of the Holy Spirit was given and when we can’t figure out what to pray as we should, the Holy Spirit who is given when you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior will do that as an act of intercession for you. (Romans 8:26)

However, you need to accept the present that the Cross gave like paying for sins, overcoming death by Resurrection and having then everlasting life to overcome the world and the sin that we are not able to pay for ourselves.

Don’t wait, because it is a limited offer. The limit is your last breath and your last heartbeat. While Jesus speaks about the simplicity of adding time to your life, our faith is so small, we are not able to do such a simple thing Jesus stated.(Luke 12:25) Our moment of the death of our bodies is not a predicted moment that we control. The gift is the Gospel message, the Good News. Click the Blue Cross below in this Blog to see what the process is and take care if it right now. Tomorrow may be too late, for it is written, “never boast about tomorrow for you never know what a day will bring“. Anyone is welcome to come to Jesus Christ.

Do not let the light of the city or the world block out the light of Christ Jesus and salvation paid for on the Cross of Calvary for you and all those you Love Don’t allow the illumination of the world, broken and struggling be the blocking light trying to out shine your view of the Cross and Jesus Christ that is our given Hope.

Next time you see the light of a star in the city, realize that if you take the light pollution of the city away, you will see more of the Glory that is the heavens and realize you are missing out on a lot in your life, the short earthly one and the forever heavenly one.

If you take the world away from your life for moment and focus on the Cross and what it means, your life will be transformed. It all starts at the Cross, where Christ Jesus, paid it all for us all.
