Under the Tree

Soon the Celebration of the greatest gift ever given past, present or forever will come upon us. However, many will be focused on the best deal in the the art of the  super sale, how many packages are under the tree or how many times the delivery truck has brought that box with a smile or the one that you “wish” had 3 more coming for free.

Some will decorate the door with a wreath., Some will get a fresh tree and fill the house, with the smell of pine, drape it with shiny objects and with the invention of those LED lights and all the amazing animations they can perform to dazzle our minds in the glitter.. that tree will twinkle. The familiar music we hum from old and the new are strangely familiar.

There will be visits from people Aunt Joyce or Uncle Jack or Grandma, Grandpa, Nanna, Omba. Pappy, Papa and so forth. (You know the one you use, don;t deny it!!)

We will figure out how to take that Turkey or that Ham or whatever is your tradition and make is the best meal ever, to garner the accolades from our stuffed Loved ones. family or friend to make it all worth the effort.

Then while in the past generations would tell stories around the table or the sitting room, patio or a cozy fireplace, we will succumb to this being replaced with the “lets all sit around with our electronic devices surf and text while basically not talking to those we rarely see right there before us.” moments. we will make small talk with those that give some attention, though we might struggle for their name, because we are staring at that $300 purse they got from Uncle Joey, who is missing this year!!

This is what Christmas seems to be and it is a long departure from the days where we all sat around as a family in the morning, with Grandpa or Dad or the assigned eldest child opening the family Bible and turn to Luke 2 and read the story of the reason for the season, not Happy Holidays, but MERRY CHRISTMAS ! The birth of the greatest gift.

On that day of the greatest gift arrival, the lights were a bright star, the music was the sounds of the Angels rejoicing before the Shepherds tending their flocks and the gifts were not greater than he who gave us the indescribable gift.

There are two explanations of the Christmas story I love, one is when Linus of the Peanuts cartoon recites in “A Charlie Brown Christmas“, a classic and meaningful story that helps us understand the real meaning of Christmas. I thank Charles Schultz the creator for putting the meaning of Christmas where is would go on share the meaning for generations to come. The other is a video put out by Steelehouse Media, which is cute and humorous in how a child views what Christmas means.

Charlie Brown’s Christmas tree still can be found as a gift for those that want the nostalgia feeling added to the plenteous decorations they already collected. An less and less these days there is the missing symbol of the one tree that stands above all the others as it was once decorated with the gift we received over 2000 years ago born to Mary and Joseph in the town of Bethlehem and wrapped in swaddling clothes, visited by wise men from the East and Shepherds who were out tending their sheep that night.

There is a passage that sticks out these days as I have aged, Isaiah 9:6-7. All I can say is that he has some sturdy shoulders and if he can carry that much on his shoulders then we should have no doubts he is able to also carry us on his shoulders as well.

I would ask each one that reads this Blog share it with each person you know and ask them to please read the Christmas story for yourself found in Luke 2: 1:-21, to others, to the generations that shall come and to the generations that are looking for shoulders strong enough for their lives, and all peoples, when with sin he hung on the tree for us all. Let all the world stop and look at the gift we have been given so that we would have eternal life if we will take the PRESENT and RECEIVE HIM, Jesus Christ so that the Present turns into the Gift of Love that GOD has given, as GOD is Love and He demonstrates His Love in that while we were still sinners He sent his Son…

This site was created as a site for giving. I would ask you to please Give and help me continue to Give by entering the drawing for a Art Frame which features the Tree of the Cross of Calvary there is no cost.  Please Give to our favorite places to donate and that we are a part of like Give Hope Ministries.org, Silent Voices.org who are both good non-profits doing wonderful things for others that are in need and a financial gift is very much a life changer. Changing of the Guard

Of the 4 seasons around us Fall is the top of the list I find. The changes come with a subtle shift in the colors of the tree leaves as the trees start the shedding for their winter look. Even the creeping and fly creatures are so busy getting ready for the hibernation time,  getting the last week of supplies, making preparations for the rain or the cold days of freezing and snow.

Jack Rabbits are out in the scrub of the desert and they are larger than life, but running with a thicker coats and away from a hungry hawk that watches them as gifts of plenty provided before them to pick and choose.

Summer is putting tucking in the long days, packing the sun tan lotion and switching the time of  long sunsets which used to come late in the day. Fall brings the trumpet of the chilled morning, the new coat on a now red face and runny noses seeking the next tissue or lose shirt sleeve.

When Christ was hung on the cross, He was the symbol of the changing of the guard in the seasons of our lives. We would not need to sacrifice an animal to gain forgiveness for our every sin and we would learn of real salvation. We would still struggle against the sin’s that plague us, but we need not wait for an invitation to go before the King of Kings and Lord of Lords and ask for our needs in our times of trouble, ask to be included in the payment for sin, our sin. That which nailed our Savior on the Cross, by his choice, he went to the Cross for us of his own, our sin drove the nails to hold him there.

Jesus performed the changing of the guard for the seasons of our lives with His life out of Love. The veil was torn so we could go boldly to the Throne of Grace and seek Mercy and a portion of Grace in our time of needs, making it possible for all to have the same chances. We now can come directly to our Holy Father by embracing our Risen Savior who now prays in constant intercession for us at His right hand.

We were not left orphans, but given the Holy Spirit which helps us know what we ought to do, what to pray, and how to know the the will of GOD for our lives. So great is the gift of the Holy Spirit, it will pray for us in groans that are to low for us to hear, but the Holy Father knows them and He hears what is truly on our hearts.

Jesus Christ took our Sins and marked them paid. He paid the full price, no discounts, no special coupons, it was a black Friday day, but not for the bargains, for our eternity, the full price and He did it for us, because of Love, because of Love.

When we confess our sins and repent and seek forgiveness, it is not because the Blood of Christ shed on the cross is not enough. We must repent and ask forgiveness so that we can acknowledge that we have sinned and fell short of the Glory of GOD.

Jesus Christ is our high priest at the Throne room and we are invited to come in and be in prayer with him. We that do believe and accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior are buried in him. So when GOD see’s us, He see’s His precious son. We don’t wear the uniform of the Guard, we don’t know the proper steps, the protocol that is a must, we are blemished and weak, but in Christ Jesus we are cleansed, perfection in work and one day we will be perfected in Glory, not a blemish, not a weak one and we will have no tears to shed, we will know what it is to have the full measure of the Love of GOD without sin.

When we look at the cross, Jesus was the Guard that changed the seasons of our lives from eternal damnation to a chance at eternal life. It is not a free pass to go out and sin and then say hey we are covered. Jesus paid for sin, not for sin to be ignored or to amount to nothing. When we look closely at the day we will all be judged, we have two things the changing of the Guard in Christ Jesus provided for us. First is GOD’s Mercy, when GOD withholds what we actually deserve and instead gives us something undeserved in it’s place.

The second is Grace is when GOD holds back from giving us Judgment at the moment we should receive it. What we don’t think about sadly is that each judgement where Grace has temporarily replaced it, is stacked up and waits for us to be judged. GOD will show us every sinful thing for which judgement must come for he is the fair and right judge, he must judge he is the giver of justice. We will see it and it will be overwhelming, even crushing. Then and only then will our Hope in Jesus Christ come to our understanding, if we have truly held full belief in who he is. We can be confident at that moment the book of the Lamb of GOD will be opened and our name will be sought and despite all we have done, we will be given the forgiveness that happened when the changing of Guard happened on Calvary’s hill.

We can’t just stare at the empty cross and ignore it, we need to look at the place where Jesus Christ performed the changing of the guard for our lives in eternity and made a way when there was no way impossible uncomplicated way before his sacrifice. He is the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except through him.

Sadly, there are so many that will not take the gift of the Gospel message and embrace Jesus Christ with all their heart. They will not have the chance when the last breath and the last heartbeat passes them on from this life to the next. They will continue to refuse, find other ways that are more comfortable, make a lifetime of excuses, but when the day for them comes, they will be forever in torment because they refused to see the changing of the Guard and embrace Jesus Christ fully as He paid for our sins fully.

I pray each person that comes and reviews this artwork understands the gift of Salvation. No matter who, what, where, when or how you or your life has been, you can be saved.

Our Frames in the Cross

One of the interesting items in making these cross art frames is thinking about how each frame along with each cross and the final colors are as unique and very much one of a kind. We are one of a kind as well to GOD in Christ Jesus.

I never know what I will end up with when I start with each frame and pick a color set. that will blend or contrast with the frame. Sometimes when I have frames with the same size glass, I switch them around to see if they will look better in another frame or if the one I started with is the better end result.

Consider GOD the master Potter who molds us, being the clay, and how GOD has the final shape and purpose for which we were each created. He knows that as his skillful hands shape us, we are going to mar up the clay in our lives, but he knows exactly how much is needed for the final creation and puts it on the table when he starts. As we go along, he removes the parts that are damaged and continues from start to completion.

We may think we should become a fine vase, or a goblet for the kings table, possibly a fancy platter that will be used to serve in a banquet of royalty, but GOD could make us into a dish that will feed the poor and hungry. Be certain, GOD already has the end in mind, as he knew us before the foundation of the world.

When we read the words of King David in Psalms 119:16-17, he tells us that GOD forms us in our mother’s womb. In Philippians 1:6 we are told that “He who started a good work in you will continue it until the day of Christ Jesus.” It is a humble blessing to know all of our creation from GOD thinking us to be through to the day of the everlasting walk with him in the cool of the day is his design, his strong hand and we are as he created us.

The fact that GOD made us each one of kind from the onset is really a testimony to him if you meditate on it. In this way, he made the path for us to have a one to one, personal relationship with us through Jesus Christ.

So when I look at my frame art, I think about how the recipient will use it. Will it be an inspiration that reshapes their relationship with Jesus Christ, or is it a gift of great Love to be given to a broken person that needs Jesus Christ so they can be repaired. It may be purely a gift of Love where it fulfills the command of Jesus to Love one another. There are many possibilities where these frames will go and who might be changed for the Cross is where all our Salvation begins.

I pray each person that comes and reviews this artwork understands the gift of Salvation. No matter who, what, where, when or how you or your life has been, you can be saved.

How Great Thou Art !

When I am working on the cross art frames, each piece has something to say to me in some way. Sometimes it is the colors, the frame, the combination. Sometimes I change the frame to the glass plate and see if the combination speaks to my heart in another way.

It is difficult sometime to post them for giving because each one is so wonderful to me, but then I think of how it will become a blessing to another and they will see something in the frame or the colors that I did not see. More so, how GOD will get the Glory and that makes we let go because that is why GOD blesses us, so that we can give Him all the Glory.

Jesus Christ is Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever according to Hebrews 13:8.  How we see him through the eyes of our heart, however, makes him special and one of kind to us. “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. Psalm 139:14

I wish I had a picture of the face of each person that has received one of the art frames as a gift. I think the cross gets illuminated just off the smiles and twinkle in the eyes of the recipient. Jesus did say: “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” John 8:12. In Him there is no darkness. He reflects the Love of GOD  through not only His life, His walk, His death and His resurrection, but in how he shares his Love through others who believe in him.

This is a light that can come in to darkest night and glow so brightly, but not blind you with the brilliance it radiates. When I look at each art frame, the frame and colors fade for a moment and there stands the testimony: “Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” 2 Corinthians 9.  GOD says “I Love you”.and Jesus Christ said it on the Cross to us all, if we will accept His Love.  That is what each of my cross illuminated art frames says to me and I hope it also says the same to each of those who receive one and even more so to those that give one.

How Great Thou Art

Stuart K. Hine was a Bristish Methodist missionary on a mission trip in Ukraine in 2931 when he heard the Russian translation of a German song inspired by Carl Boberg’s poem “O Store Gud” (O Great God). Hine began to translation the song to English and added several verses. The third verse was inspired by the conversion of villagers in Russia who cried out to God loudly as the repented and realized God’s love and mercy – “And when I think that God, His Son not sparing, sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in.”

Stuart Hine and his family left Ukraine as famine and World War Two began, and settled in Somerset, Britain where he continued to serve as a missionary to Polish refugees. The forth verse of “How Great Thou Art” was inspired by displaced Russians who experienced great loss and looked forward to seeing their loved ones again in heaven – “When Christ shall come with shoult of acclamation to take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.”

The final English version of “How Great Thou Art” was published in 1949 and quickly spread among Britian, Africa, India and America.

Christ Jesus died for us all, and in that we can come to know him, embrace his Love and receive that day : “When Christ shall come with shoult of acclamation to take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.” How Great Thou Art !

If you set the world away from your life for moment and focus on the Cross and what it means, your life will be transformed. It all starts at the Cross, where Christ Jesus, paid it all for us all. Should you not consider to bask in the Glow of Jesus Christ?

Glow

Oh my Lord, we are in the heat of the summer in the Northern Hemisphere where the days are bright and hot depending on where you are blessed to reside. Here in the Southern California desert, it exceeds 100 degrees F daily from May through mid September and it is so hot that every object seems to Glow with the appearance of waves of air flowing up and out.

If you ever heard the phrase “so hot you could fry an egg” well you can fry an egg on a car body in this desert heat. Yes that is the truth, as long as you are not in a hurry, but it will cook. Other items that have additional features in the heat are those car window sun shades. Sure they work well to keep the sun off the dash or interior, but it is so hot you need to also have a kitchen pot holder to grab it off the window as temperatures in a car can get over 150 degrees F.

Even the asphalt gets so hot that if you are wearing rubber soled shoes, they will soften and wear swiftly, signs are posted to remind you of the asphalt for animals.

The Bible talks about a heat that is unbearable even more than the hottest day in the desert sun. If you ever watch a video on the solar power collectors in the Nevada/California border area, it is so hot, birds that fly near it burst from the focused intense heat.

In the Bible, there are two sources of heat that are not the place for eternity for anyone, Hell (Sheol) and The Lake of Fire.  These are more agonizing a torment and is forever. In the book of Luke Chapter 16:19-21, the rich man who did not have compassion on Lazarus at the gate daily found himself in Hell and asked if Lazarus who was in heaven could bring him one drop of water on his tongue. He also begged that someone should go to his family and tell them how not to come to this place and suffer with the unquenching thirst.

In the book of John 4:1-26, Jesus offers a Samaritan woman at the well as the living water that will forever quench your thirst, for you will never thirst again Jesus stated. This water will keep you out of the heat of Hell and The Lake of Fire.

The Cross of Calvary’s Glows with the radiance of our Salvation journey begins. It is the place the living water of Christ Jesus was poured out and the promise of a way to quench the soul for a better eternity through Christ Jesus who is the Glow of everlasting life and deliverance from the heat of the everlasting torment.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ sets us free. It is the single most significant event that makes what GOD offered in his only begotten son, that sets him apart from any other man made promise of Salvation. For no other false GOD has given so that what he created can live and walk with him in the cool of the day and not suffer the torment of the unending heat.

I know like so many I did not like to hear or eagerly discuss the path to Hell or Sheol as in the old testament or the reality of the Lake of Fire, the last place of torment after the great white throne judgment as stated in the Revelation 20:11-15. But we must. This is not a fantasy, it is a reality and the choice to accept grows shorter every moment we live.

When it is dark in our lives, the cross Glows with Christ Jesus when you accept his offering of Salvation. The noon day sun be bright and the sun shining at an angle as to cast little to no shadows, but only the Glow of Christ Jesus in the heart of a believer can create a Glow greater than any sun that GOD hung in the heavens and has not shadow.

If you set the world away from your life for moment and focus on the Cross and what it means, your life will be transformed. It all starts at the Cross, where Christ Jesus, paid it all for us all. Should you not consider to bask in the Glow of Jesus Christ?
